Access

We offer a warm welcome to all at Grayingham Lodge, a family run working farm. This access statement is written in a clear and concise manner in order to describe our current facilities and manage guest expectations. We are a non-smoking establishment throughout. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require further clarification on accessibility.

Pre-arrival

Grayingham Lodge is situated on the B1205 at the northern end of Lincolnshire. Sat. Nav. Reference is DN21 4AN, The house is covered in ivy, has a gravel driveway and is set back from the road. Grayingham Lodge is 10 miles (15 minutes drive) from Gainsborough and 9 miles (15 minutes drive) from Scunthorpe. Kirton in Lindsey is 2 miles (5 minutes drive away) and has restaurants, pubs and shops. The nearest railway stations are at Gainsborough and Scunthorpe and Humberside Airport is a 30 minute drive away and Robin Hood Doncaster Airport is a 40 minute drive. There are no public bus services passing the house. A list of local taxi services can be provided on request.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

There is ample guest parking on the gravel drive, and a sign tells guests the most appropriate spot to park. Secure undercover car parking at the house can be arranged by prior request. The drive is well lit at night. Cars can be parked immediately adjacent to the guest’s own entrance. Guests are always offered assistance with luggage on arrival and departure.

Main Entrance

Guests have exclusive use of the ivy porch entrance situated on the main drive on the western side of the property, this entrance is 81 cm wide, and there is a weatherboard step 8 cm high.

Public Areas – Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc

The guest’s main entrance has a 90 degree turn leading into a hallway. At the end of this corridor are 2 steps with 17 cm rises leading into the main hall and staircase. Guests have exclusive use of this entrance, hall and staircase leading to the 2 guest bedrooms. In the hallway is a ‘front door’ which gives access to the garden. The main flight of stairs has a handrail on the left side. The ceiling is low at the end of the first set of steps and a ‘mobile’ draws attention to this. The first 8 steps of 18 cm rise lead to a ‘half’ landing and a 90 degree turn to 3 more steps, a further landing and 3 steps leading to the upstairs landing which is 89 cm wide and 1 metre 17 cm long, with the guest bedrooms at either end. There is emergency lighting in the hall and landing areas and a wired smoke alarm on the ground floor and first floor landing and in the 2 bedrooms. There is a fire extinguisher on the ground floor hallway. All floors in the entrance, hall, stairs and landing are carpeted.

Public Areas – Drawing Room

Guests have exclusive use of the drawing room, which is accessed from the main hallway, is carpeted and has good lighting

Public WCs

We do not have a WC for guest use, guests have their own WC's.

Dining Room

Guests take breakfast in the dining room at the family dining table. There are 2 carver chairs and 6 dining chairs. The room has a central carpeted area, the remainder of the floor surface is polished wood. Lighting is provided from a central fitting and table lamps. The breakfast menu is available in large print on request. We will endeavour to cater for special diets on prior request.

Bedrooms

There are 2 bedrooms, the Grayingham Room has a king-sized bed and the Northorpe Room twin beds, which can be converted into a super king-sized bed. All beds are accessible from both sides. Bedrooms are carpeted. There is a wired smoke detection system and wall mounted remote control TV's. The central lighting can be controlled from the bed and a wall switch. Each room has an armchair, bedside lamps and a lamp over the dressing table/work area, and cordless kettles are provided.

En-suite Bathrooms

Both bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms the bathroom dimensions for the Grayingham Room are 1.8 m by 2.67 m and the Northorpe Room 2.4 m by 2.3 m. Both rooms have tiled floors and part tiled walls, There are ‘p’ended bath/showers and the height into the bath is 61 cm. The showers are activated from the main bath taps. There are mirror/shaver lights and shelving over basins. Non-slip rubber mats are provided. There is a grab rail on the left hand side of Grayingham Room bath. There are large windows in both bathrooms which can be made completely private by venetian blinds.
